Alumni Council 2017-2018 Plan

  • Leadership Alumni Bash: scheduled for 8/10/17 at Falls of the Ohio, 5:30-7pm
    • Sponsors: MainSource Bank, need one more
      • Potential drink sponsor—working on it
    • Beverage Service: Sam’s (same as last year)
  • Workshop
    • Debrief from Generational Series: good turn-out, new prospects not typically in pool of applicants; 4-part series hard to attend
    • **2018 Workshop (brainstorming)** (see following page)
      • MCM secured sponsor
      • Community Engagement Focus
        • Serve Day (will need LOTS of volunteer coordination among different groups, classes, etc.)
          • If no serve day, the new website should have volunteer opportunities in the ‘Alumni’ section, updated often
        • Speaker followed by nonprofit expo
      • Potential Events
        • summer event with Maker 13?
        • Breakfast Series moved to February and March, will help fill Spring gap
        • Need balance of fun events vs. educational/community service focus
        • Need joint networking with Leadership Louisville Center

        • Graduation, May 18th at Kye’s II, 5:30-7:30!
        • Annual Meeting, 10/25, TBD
          • Will do more to market for individual tickets rather than selling tables only!
        • Need to line up next Alumni Council chair to follow Gretchen at year-end.
        • Recruit current DISCOVER class member(s) to serve on Alumni Council!

  • Increase Gen X involvement—in boards, volunteer capacity, in LeadershipSI itself
