Sara Rutkowski is a 2015 graduate of LeadershipSI’s NEXGEN program, and graduated from Charlestown High School in 2016. Now a freshman at Hanover, Sara’s first year mirrors the success of her high school career. She says, “I’ve started out my first semester on the Dean’s List and offered a place in Alpha lambda Delta Honors Society. One of my essays is up to possibly be in the Hanover Historical Review.”Sara and her roommate are Co-creators of the club, The Brainiacs, which offers the opportunity to learn more about the physiological and psychological workings of the brain through–well, fun! (“Get insane in the membrane!” seems to be their slogan!)
Sara’s hard work has also paid off, as she is a Hanover Impact Fund recipient who is leaning toward Communication as her major. She says, “My experience with NEXGEN has prepped me by showing that being a leader starts with responsibility, such as holding myself to a certain standard with my schooling. It has also helped me with my job in our Stewardship and Alumni Giving Department.” Sara is the Assistant to the Director and helped plan the first annual President’s Holiday Gala. She says, “Without NEXGEN, I do not think I would have been prepared to be in such a professional settings and network as I was able to!”
