Anne Gardner Darku, a Jeffersonville native, is happy to be back in Southern Indiana serving as Program Manager for Leadership Southern Indiana. Anne relies on strong relationships in her work as a project/account manager, facilitator and fundraiser. She holds a B.A. in Organizational Communications and Theatre from Murray State University. Anne has served in Program Manager and Development roles with organizations including the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago where she managed a $3.4 million dollar portfolio. She also has years of improvisation training and performance experience at iO (Improv Olympics) and The Second City in Chicago.
Locally, Anne has led strategic development efforts, events and fundraising initiatives for Mama to Mama from its inception through its current third full year as a 501c3, increasing dollars and awareness each year. She has also taught bullying workshops in dozens of local schools through Commonwealth Theatre Center, as well as mindfulness to public school teachers through the Compassionate Schools Project. Currently, Anne is completing her 500 Hour Yoga Alliance yoga teacher training, so you will also find her on the mat teaching yoga at Inner Spring Yoga and the Downtown YMCA.
Anne and her partner, Kofi, have two young daughters and reside in downtown Jeffersonville.
