Leadership Southern Indiana
A West Virginia native, Mark Eddy has journeyed through Tennessee, Canada, Indiana and Kentucky, developing many professional and leadership accomplishments in nonprofit organizations. After serving as Director of Special Initiatives with the YMCA of Greater Louisville, Mark moved to a new position at Leadership Southern Indiana in August 2010 as their first full-time Executive Director. In March 2019 his role changed to President/CEO to align with the community engagement and growth of the organization. In his nine years at Leadership Southern Indiana, Mark has transformed the organization from a one-stop program shop to an organization serving all generations of professionals-in-development and diversifying funds to accommodate the growing organization. The organization has added two new programs in addition to its signature program DISCOVER and three additional employees while increasing funding by 300%. Mark is also dedicated to community service, as he serves on the boards of Floyd Memorial Foundation, Centra Credit Union Supervisory Committee, Align SI Operating Board, Metro United Way and serves on 1SI Advocacy Committee and SI Mentoring Partnership Committee. He has served as chair of the Southern Indiana Advisory Council of MUW (2018-19) and served as Board President on the Indiana Leadership Association (2017-18). Mark and his wife, Jan, have four adult sons and one grandson. He is active in his church and also spends his time mentoring youth in sports and values time with family.

Director of Programs
Since 2004, John Wohrle has spent his time in associate development. Working with big brand companies like Loreal, the JcPenney Corporation and as a REALTOR ® with Schuler Bauer Real Estate Services, he’s spent his time strengthening his presentation and facilitation skills by teaching skill sets, business practices, and social media skills. During John’s time with Loreal, he was coached by the best Sales and Leadership coach, Blair Singer, received Voice and Speaking training from Stewart Pearce from the United Kingdom, and IMPROV presentation trainings with John Sweeny of the Brave New Workshop out of Minneapolis. All that training has propelled John’s growth into the best version of himself to-date.
When he made the decision to reconnect with the community and focus on homelife in 2019, Leadership Southern Indiana was there to help him reestablish his roots.
“I was invited by my friend, Laurie Kemp, to join her for the Annual meeting with Leadership Southern Indiana.” John says, “After attending, I felt a great connection with LSI, and wanted to get involved. I then applied for the Discover 2021 class and was accepted. I spent the year of the pandemic experiencing so many incredible moments virtually and in person with my class. It was by far one of my top experiences in my life, being able to see my community at a higher and deeper level. At the end of my Discover program, I was voted as the Class Rep, and have been able to serve on the Advisory Board for LSI.”
Now, as LeadershipSI’s Director of Programs, John works to show that you lead effectively by seeing others succeed, celebrating them and their wins. Within this role, he’s looking forward to building upon our program foundation; incorporating and expanding customized options for businesses and companies, taking into consideration the needs and desires of both up-and-coming and current leaders within the community.
Membership & Engagement Manager
Jesse Rasmussen joins the LSI team after spending over a decade in the radio industry working on air for stations like 102.3 The Max and Mix 106.9. All of the shows Jesse has been a part of have been proudly locally produced shows with localized content. As a part of the Kentuckiana broadcast community, “I always strived to be a champion of southern Indiana and to shine a light on the amazing things that happen on our side of the river. I like to think that I lead the way for more in the local media and entertainment industry to think of southern Indiana as a viable community that deserves to be served.”
In addition to his love of his hometown, New Albany, one of the things that made Jesse successful as a radio host was his ability to connect with an audience and build relationships.
He is excited to use those skills and relationships to build a connection with our LSI alumni and members. As the Engagement/Membership manager, Jesse is ready to listen to our members’ needs, build a renewed excitement among them, and help strengthen their networks in order to help them lead the way.
